This was posted as three separate tweets on X, but I’ll combine them here to show the continuity of the story.
This shows how you can use frame rates to create different kinds of movement in Procreate.
First Tweet:
gm Previously I posted about glitch timing. Now let’s take those numbers and see how we can make movement.
Here’s a circle, spinning at 15 degrees per frame, in time with our 24 frame counter. Using 12 frame per second frame rate. So a full circle is 2 seconds
Second Tweet:

let’s add alternating tempos. original circle spun 15 degrees per frame, 24 frames. I’ve added another turning 15 every 2 frames, and one turning 15 each 4 frames.
Since we’ve still only got 24 frames, they won’t turn full circle
Third Tweet:

my last post showed all parts moving the same distance per “step” but stepping at different rates.
Here we see same frames, same rates of movement. But slower movers now take bigger steps and catch up to one another.
details:
- outer circle steps 15 degrees per frame over 24 frames
- middle circle steps 30 degrees every 2 frames
- inner circle steps 60 degrees every 4 frames
